We are parents and carers of children in the UK who are opposed to the full reopening of schools before it is safe to do so.

The National Education Union has set out the #FiveTests before they will support reopening: a much lower rate of transmssion, a national plan for social distancing, access to regular testing, a whole school strategy for testing and isolation when a case of Covid-19 is detected, and protection for vulnerable staff and families. These tests have not been met.

We don’t trust this Government to manage reopening. People are still contracting Covid-19 and dying from it in high numbers. Consequently, it is not safe for educators, our children or our families to send our children back to school at this time, and we will not be doing so. Our children will stay at home until it is safe.
