Join the Basic Needs Coalition @ Stanford!
**The Basic Needs Coalition @ Stanford** seeks to mobilize community and institutional resources to meet the basic needs of everyone at Stanford. We are a collective of individuals and organizations building infrastructure and shaping advocacy -- by the community and for the community.

The coalition shares membership with student organizations, including FLIP (First-Generation Low-Income Partnership), Stanford Mutual Aid, Stanford Food Recovery, (SFR) ASSU (Associated Students of Stanford University), and SWR (Students for Workers’ Rights).

**The Basic Needs Fund @ Stanford** is one initiative from the the Basic Needs Coalition. The Fund is meant to be one resource for students for whom University resources have been insufficient and students who are ineligible for institutional resources. For those with disposable income or wealth, in particular, the Fund is a call to stretch into redistribution work and into supporting stronger community-led safety nets.

In our first major fundraising push, we raised over $60k by the start of fall quarter classes on September 14th. We are continuing to fundraise throughout the 2020-21 academic year with our new fiscal sponsor, the Academic Mutual Aid Foundation (AMAF).

Undergraduate and graduate students; postdoctoral scholars; class of 2020 young alumni; and those deferring admission or taking leaves of absences are eligible to apply.

**This form focuses on on-boarding support for the Basic Needs Fund and also includes options to on-board to the Basic Needs Coalition.** The form includes one section for organizations and one section for individuals, and it is open to students, alumni, faculty, parents, and anyone in the Stanford community. You do not need any experience or skills related to advocacy and fundraising to join the coalition.

As an organization, we believe deeply that access to basic needs should never be a barrier to success at Stanford, and we know that there are enough resources at Stanford to support all of us. We are so grateful to be in community with so many who are ready to mobilize and work with us. Thank you for your shared values, and thank you for all that you do to put them into practice!
