If you are looking to become involved, here are the current position we are looking to fill…
- Permanent animal care volunteer: This position requires you to come one day per week at the same time each week to complete a task. For example you may come in on Wednesdays from 10-12pm to help clean small mammal cages, or Thursdays from 5-6 to help care for reptiles. We will work around both of our schedules to find a good day/time for all parties.
- Temporary animal care volunteer: This position allows you to choose how often you want to help/which tasks you are able to complete based on your availability. An email will be sent out at the beginning of each week to all volunteers listing specific tasks that we need help with that week. It may be cleaning a turtle tank, helping with dishes, or enclosure clean out, just to name a few. You choose what task you want to help with based on your schedule! Even if you aren’t available for 3 months at a time, that’s okay!
- Animal socializer: This can be a temporary or permanent position. You will be asked to come in to sit with/play with/give animals love, attention and playtime. You can choose what animal you are most comfortable working with!
- Laundry: We are looking for someone to pick up and do our animal laundry once per week. It typically is only 1-2 loads. Must be willing to purchase unscented/all natural laundry detergent.
- Supplies pick up: We are looking for someone with a truck, van or larger vehicle to help pick up and transport bedding from New Kensington to our shop 1 or 2 times per month. Must be able to lift multiple, very heavy bags.
- Event volunteer: We are looking for people to help out with various fundraisers, events, classes, programs, and outreach. It could be helping with set up, helping with animals, or talking to people at events about our mission., just to name a few. You choose when you want to participate based on your schedule!
