Thank you for your interest in becoming an Alumni Mentor for the ECLIPSE program. If you're not familiar, ECLIPSE (Explorations in Collaborative Leadership and Interprofessional Education) is a leadership program designed to expose undergraduates to the various professionals in health and how they can work more collaboratively together to improve patient and community health outcomes. ECLIPSE was started by the School of Health Sciences in 2017-18 and is now 100 participants strong, and growing!
Each student in ECLIPSE is assigned a mentoring group when entering the program, that is lead by a Peer Mentor. Typically the mentoring groups are created with major/interests in mind so that they are able to study and gain resources from each other. That Peer Mentor will be your main contact for the group. Chances are you will be paired with a group that is also interested in your career, so they can learn from your experiences.
The responsibilities of an Alumni Mentor would include:
- Attend a brief virtual orientation/training for the Alumni Mentor role (will be recorded)
- Attend an in-person meeting in September to meet your mentoring groups in person
- Connecting with your mentoring groups once a month either virtually or in-person to check in, share resources, or to just meet and chat.
- Attend our end of year banquet in April to celebrate the successes of the students
- Participate as a speaker, panelist, volunteer, partner (if/when available)
Please sign up by July 28th so we can be prepared for the start of the fall semester.
