SURG AGM: 2023 Executive Nomination
Our 2022 GM will be held on Wednesday 19th October 2022 at 5:30pm, to elect additional members to our Executive team!

The positions up for nomination are:
- Station Director (President)
- Deputy Station Director
- Treasurer
- Secretary
- Programming Director
- Technical and Facilities Director
- Music Director
- Digital Content Editor
- Two (2) Marketing Officers
- Two (2) Events and Sponsorship Officers

1. Station Director (President)
 a) Plan the Society’s activities in consultation with the Executive
 b) Liaise with the Executive and any Committees formed by the Society
 c) Ensure an adequate handover, including any documents and materials, to the following Executive
 d) Maintain the online stream of the radio shows of the Society’s members
 e) Be the responsible entity for the Society

2. Deputy Station Director
a) Deputise for the Station Director
b) Support the activities of other Executive members if, and when, needed.
c) Ensure adequate handover of role to future Deputy Station Director.

3. Treasurer
 a) Maintain the Society’s finances in accordance with the C&S Handbook for Treasurers produced by the Clubs & Societies Office of The University of Sydney Union
 b) Present to the Annual General Meeting of the Society a report detailing the financial activity and status of the Society.
 c) Ensure an adequate handover, including any documents and materials, to the following Executive. iv) Plan a program of regular events for the Society

4. Secretary
 a) Conduct the correspondence of the Society
 b) Book meeting rooms for the Society.
 c) Keep minutes of the proceedings of all Society meetings.
 d) Maintain the records and documents of the Society.
e) Establish the mentorship program between new and returning members.
 f) Maintain a list of current Members, in accordance with University of Sydney Union Guidelines.
 g) Maintain the Society’s registration with The University of Sydney Union.
 h) Coordinate social media updates about the Society in conjunction with the Publicity Officer.

5. Programming Director
 a) Manage and structure the radio programming of the Society.
 b) Plan and manage the structure of programming, radio shows and podcasts each semester.
 c) Manage the Society’s presenting and technical training program alongside the Technical and Facilities Officer.
 d) Be the point of contact for broadcasters regarding technical or programming issues.
e) Seek curation of shows, to maintain content that is relevant to the Society brand.
 f) Ensure adequate handover of role to the following Executive.

6. Technical and Facilities Director
a) Maintenance, upkeep, changing and upgrading of technology to improve the Society.
b) Maintain the studio in a clean and usable state.
c) Organise technical training alongside the Programming Officer.
d) Maintain and purchase, if necessary, such tools and equipment as are deemed necessary by the Executive.
e) Encourage and ensure an adequate supply of members trained in technical matters.
f) Provide technical advice and/or assistance to shows if requested.
g) Report to the Executive any damages made to facilities or goods stolen.

7. Music Director
 a) Pick up correspondence from media labels from the C&S office
 b) Listen to the music the station is sent, determine whether it will be played on the station.
 c) Liaise with broadcasters to match music received with shows going to air.
 d) Ensuring that Breakfast and Drive shows play at least one station music library track per show.
 e) Maintaining an account with ACMA’s AirIt service on behalf of the Society in order to source new music and to ensure control of that account is handed over to the subsequent music director each year.
 f) In conjunction with the president, the music director shall seek out new music from record labels.
 g) Management of the Station’s music library including CDs and PlayMPE

8. Digital Content Director
a) Maintain the Society’s website and content output.
b) Manage a content calendar to ensure regular and scheduled output.
c) Oversee and implement house style, edit pieces to fit the Society and website brand and upload pieces to the website.
d) Coordinate with the Marketing Director to produce relevant social media strategy across official Society platforms.
e) Maintain strong relationships with volunteers and contributors, provide mentorship and training when necessary.
f) Manage an editorial team and present new content ideas to the Executive.
g) Coordinate with the Music Director to ensure coverage of local artists.
h) Ensure adequate handover of role to the following Executive.

Two Marketing Officer
a) Manage the brand identity of the Society.
b) Manage and develop social media strategies to grow the Society’s presence.
c) Publish event promotion and Society updates to relevant social media channels.
d) Manage the Society’s social media accounts.
e) Manage the Society’s on- and off-campus promotional activities and materials (including banners, flyers, posters, and digital promotion).
f) Ensure adequate handover of role to the following Executive.

Two Sponsorship/Events Officer
a) Plan a program of regular events for the Society, in conjunction with the Treasurer.
b) Promote Society events, in conjunction with the Marketing Director Officers and Music Director.
c) Seek sponsorship for the Society’s programs, shows, website, podcasts, and any other properties.
d) Maintain the Society’s Media Kit (including sponsorship packages) to distribute to prospective sponsors.
e) Seek new and maintain partnerships with University of Sydney Union, and Union Clubs and Societies for the mutual benefit and to fulfil the role as a campus broadcaster.
