Brinkley School District ACT 1240 Licensure Waiver Extentsion Community Input
The Brinkley School District currently has waivers for teacher licensure and is asking for your input to continue employing teachers that are not fully licensed. Each year, teachers must show progress toward licensure, and the District expects teachers to take and pass all PRAXIS exams to become certified in Arkansas.

This waiver allows us the flexibility in hiring unlicensed individuals with a degree with so many hours of course work in the content area they would be employed. This includes flexibility in hiring a library media specialist as well. Once hired, the individual enrolls in an alternative pathway to become licensed. *
