You acknowledge and understand that there are inherent risks associated with this activity (including risk of physical injury from accidents, collisions, falls, etc.). In consideration of permission to engage in this activity and to the fullest extent permitted by law, you hereby release and forever discharge The Board of Trustees of the Leland Stanford Junior University, its employees, officers, Trustees, students and volunteers, as well as SURPAS (Stanford University Postdoctoral Association) and any member of the SURPAS Sports committee (together, the “Stanford Releasees”) from any and all claims (including any causes of action relating to personal injury, death or property damage) relating to the activity. You agree to expressly waive all rights conferred by Section 1542 of the California Civil Code which states: “A general release does not extend to claims which the creditor does not know or suspect to exist in his favor at the time of executing the release, which if known to him must have materially affected his settlement with the debtor.” IT IS YOUR INTENTION BY THIS AGREEMENT TO EXPRESSLY ASSUME THE RISK OF AND TO EXEMPT AND RELIEVE THE STANFORD RELEASEES FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY FOR YOUR PERSONAL INJURY, PROPERTY DAMAGE OR DEATH FROM WHATEVER CAUSE OCCURING WHILE ON STANFORD PROPERTY OR ENGAGING IN THE ACTIVITES DESCRIBED HEREIN.
