Winter Sports Sign Up Form 2023
Sign up to play a sport across both Terms 2 and 3 for Columba College. Whether you like to play competitively, or socially, there is a team for everyone. Get active and be involved to see what all the fun in sport is about.  

TRIALS for Jnr and Snr Competitive teams will take place next week before competitions start in week 2 of next term. Keep an eye on your school emails and the gym notice-board for further details.

Competition Days:

Hockey - Monday (Second XI) Tuesday (First XI and Social)
Badminton - Tuesday (Only Term 2)
Golf - Tuesday
Rugby/Sevens - Wednesday
Curling - Wednesday
Yoga - Wednesday
Football - Thursday
Boxing - Thursday
Trap Shooting - Thursday
Basketball - Friday
Netball - Saturday

Cycling, Cross Country, Diving and Snow Sports are groups within the school mostly run as one-off events. They are organised by each TIC once expressions of interest are identified.

PARTICIPATION REMINDER - Students are able to participate in two sports codes per season but may apply to the Director of Sport for an exemption to participate in a third. Miss Turnbull will weigh up the performance level involved, the time commitment, commitments beyond school, student wellbeing, academic demands on the student and equity across sports opportunities offered in order to make her decision. The Director of Sports may also consult with caregivers, teachers-in-charge, Deans and the Head of Middle/Senior School prior to making the decision.

ATTENDANCE POLICY: The Director of Sport, sports coaches, teachers-in-charge and school management reserve the right to intervene if a student’s attendance rates or engagement in class (as reported on LERs) are below expectation. In this case, a student’s ability to participate in sporting, arts, cultural and any other extra-curricular activities may be reviewed.
