Childhood Sexual Abuse Survivors Protecting Immigrant Kids
Dear Friends,

My name is Tae Phoenix and I am a survivor of childhood sexual abuse (CSA). I know firsthand the lifelong devastation that can result from being prematurely sexualized by predatory adults.

Like many CSA survivors, I was shaken to my core when I began to hear about sexual abuse being perpetrated upon immigrant children who have been separated from their parents and detained by the U.S. Government. (https://nyti.ms/2IFNgOI)

At a recent Resist Trump Tuesday meeting with Congressional staffers, I brought up this issue and suggested some policies that might help protect kids. Raman Khanna from Congresswoman Jayapal's office approached me after the meeting and offered to put together a meeting between myself, other survivors, and Congresswoman Jayapal to craft legislation specifically targeted at preventing sexual abuse of children in detention.

I am seeking fellow Seattle-area survivors who are willing to speak privately to Congresswoman Jayapal and / or her staff about protecting immigrant kids from the trauma we experienced. If you are a survivor like me and you want to help, please fill out the short form below.

Love and solidarity,
Tae 💖
