Students who plan to play a Band/Orchestra instrument for the upcoming school year 2024 - 2025 are strongly encouraged to begin their lessons in the Summer Music Program. Because of the number of students enrolling in the Beginning Band/Orchestra Programs and limited scheduling time available during the school year, all interested students should take advantage of this summer program.

Each day, students will have a lesson on their chosen instrument, work on rhythm and movement, and have a Music Theory class, all taught by Alexandria's Music Faculty.

There will be two sessions during the day. Students need to choose one session to attend. The following sessions are available -
1. AM session     8:30 am - 11:15 am June 10-13, June 17-21 (No class June 19th - National Holiday)
2. PM session     11:45 am - 2:30 pm June 10-13, June 17-21 (No class June 19th - National Holiday)

During the third week (June 24-June 27th), each student will receive a 30-minute small group lesson. These lessons will be scheduled in the morning between 8:00 am and Noon. You can sign-up for your students week three lesson time by clicking here.

With construction completed at DMS, this year's summer music program will be back at Discovery Middle School. Please enter via the activity door (DOOR #30) using the front parking lot at DMS for pickup and drop off.

Regular punctual attendance is expected of all students. If you have a conflict due to a family vacation, etc., please indicate on the form below.

Students may not change instruments without the prior approval of the music instructor once an instrument is selected. You should have received an email from a music instructor regarding instrument selection or discussed this with an instructor. If you are unsure of your student's instrument selection, please contact a director.

There will be a $15 fee payable to District 206. This fee can be paid online via the Cardinal Store, on the first day of camp or dropped off at the DMS office.

Check-in will begin at 8:15 am for the AM session and 11:30 am for the PM session on June 10th.
