We’re delighted to provide Benny’s Sensory Activation Vehicle for local events to help make them more inclusive for individuals on the autism spectrum and others who may have sensory needs. This is a mission-driven project of the Beignet Fest Foundation, which works to celebrate, embrace and enhance the lives of children with developmental delays and disabilities by presenting them as whole beings, and to support organizations that do the same.

 Benny’s Sensory Activation Vehicle is fully equipped for respite and play. The walls and floor are lightly carpeted, and the lighting is kept low. There’s air conditioning to keep it cool. All the features are specially designed to calm the mind and engage users. Elements include a bubble wall where children can watch water flow in a series of frames that glow different colors. There are also wooden puzzles, soft bean bag chairs, an interactive colored-light panel and textured elements for tactile sensory input. In addition to the sensory activation vehicle, sensory bags that include items like headphones and fidget toys will be available to borrow through the program at events.

 We invite you to fill out the form below to put in a request to have Benny’s Sensory Activation Vehicle at your next event. This request will be reviewed by the program team to assess availability and timing for your event. If you are approved, you will receive a confirmation email with an invoice to be paid in full before your event. The per day rate is $1,000. This cost includes having the sensory trailer delivered to your event and fully-staffed for the duration with trained, certified staff to serve those utilizing the trailer. We do need to ensure accessible parking for the trailer as well as a power supply.
