USD 227 CHROMEBOOK DEVICE PROTECTION STUDENT AGREEMENT & PERMISSION FORM (BEGINNING 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR)
USD Chromebooks issued to students are the property of USD 227 Schools. The distribution of a Chromebook to a student is a privilege, not a right and may be revoked at any time for inappropriate conduct. Before a Chromebook will be issued for use at home, students, and parents/guardians must sign the Acceptable Use Policy Form & the Chromebook Device Protection Student User Agreement.
Students and their parents/guardians wishing to take advantage of this voluntary program must comply with all rules and regulations set forth in the USD 227 Mobile Computing Device & Google Apps for Education Policy and the Acceptable Use Policy. By choosing to participate in this program, you are consenting to monitoring and verification of use, and to examination of the student’s device as set forth in the above policies. Students may not remove any district-installed apps from the device, change, alter, bypass, or attempt to bypass Chromebooks security measures, or install software apps unless their teachers suggest or approve them. The school retains the right to revoke District Google Accounts & MCD privileges based on any policy violation. In such cases, the parent will be informed and any consequences related to revocation are in addition to consequences related to the school’s code of conduct. Internet access using cellular broadband networks or home Internet is NOT filtered. The use of cellular broadband networks & home Internet is the sole responsibility of the students and their parents. Student conduct is governed by existing policy and is subject to the same disciplinary policies regarding inappropriate use and the access of inappropriate content as Internet access provided by USD 227, Hodgeman County Schools.
Please take precautions in caring for the Chromebook. Students and parents/guardians will be held responsible for all damages to their Chromebook including but not limited to broken screens, cracked plastic pieces, inoperability, etc. Parents will incur financial obligation for fixing the device up to replacement value of the device.
