ELCOME!The
Cheyenne Mountain Zoo Auxiliary is thrilled you are interested in applying to
become a CMZA docent. Before you begin the application, here are some general things to know about the CMZA docent program:
1. Once
accepted into the Docent
Training Program, you are required to be a current member of Cheyenne
Mountain Zoo.
2. It is important for you to be comfortable traversing up and down hills and/or standing stationary for up to two hours
at a time at high elevation on varied terrain and in possibly inclement
weather.
3. It is also important for you to be able to use a computer to receive emails from the auxiliary, classroom handouts, continuing education, and newsletters.
4. Applicants are required to pass a background investigation.
5. Applicants accepted into the CMZ
Training Program have an initial time commitment of all-day Saturday classes
from the first week in January until the middle of March. Certifications for
tours and cart talks will occur after training is completed.
6. The deadline for submitting your
application is June 22, 2024. Interviews for the 2025 Docent Class will be
conducted in July and August 2024.
