WELCOME!

The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo Auxiliary is thrilled you are interested in applying to become a CMZA docent. Before you begin the application, here are some general things to know about the CMZA docent program:

1. Once accepted into the Docent Training Program, you are required to be a current member of Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.
2. It is important for you to be comfortable traversing up and down hills and/or standing stationary for up to two hours at a time at high elevation on varied terrain and in possibly inclement weather.
3. It is also important for you to be able to use a computer to receive emails from the auxiliary, classroom handouts, continuing education, and newsletters.
4. Applicants are required to pass a background investigation.
5. Applicants accepted into the CMZ Training Program have an initial time commitment of all-day Saturday classes from the first week in January until the middle of March. Certifications for tours and cart talks will occur after training is completed.
6. The deadline for submitting your application is June 22, 2024. Interviews for the 2025 Docent Class will be conducted in July and August 2024.
