Session Proposals: 2021 Philanthropy Partners Conference
The Maine Philanthropy Center is seeking proposals for workshops for its 2021 Philanthropy Partners Conference, which will take place virtually on May 18-20, 2021. The Maine Philanthropy Center's popular biennial Philanthropy Partners Conference provides an important and rare opportunity for hundreds of funders and nonprofits working across Maine to come together to learn, connect and collaborate. Through workshops, panel discussions, networking, and relationship-building activities, attendees share successes, learn about new trends and tools, and build connections that can enrich their work.

This year's theme is Centering Equity: Shifting Power, Building Community and we invite you to help us build a conference that encompasses this theme. Proposals are welcome from organizations, foundations and individuals working across the philanthropic and nonprofit sector.

This is a competitive process, and we will select workshops to create a balanced program while prioritizing BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) led* organizations and individuals.

Important dates:
Request For Proposals process opens: Feb 23rd
Deadline for submissions: March 22nd
Presenters notified by April 1st

Please reach out to sarah@mainephilanthropy.org with any questions. We look forward to your proposal!

*Definition of BIPOC-led: an organization that has substantial leadership from BIPOC individuals or communities. That could mean an ED who identifies as BIPOC, a Board that is a majority BIPOC, or an organization that is centered around a BIPOC community and is clearly led by that community.

• Session design should also take a thoughtful approach to the virtual format and be as interactive as possible.

• The virtual platform hosting our conference has an interactive Q&A function, but smaller breakout rooms during sessions will not be available. Please plan accordingly.

• A stipend of $375 total will be given for each session as honoraria for presenter time and experience as well as admission to the conference.
