Pride QTAY Clothing STEAL!

We're so excited to host the Pride QTAY Clothing Steal this year, which will take place on Saturday, June 18th, from 1-5pm EST.

This is a queer and trans-friendly event that will allow folks to take clothes for free!  This event is open to Asian youth on the 2SLGBTQIAP+ spectrum.  If you wish to donate clothes, we will only be accepting clothes sizes Large and up, as most of the clothes that were donated to us last year were sizes XS, S, and M.  Binders are also accepted in any size.

The number of clothes you are able to take away from the event is technically unlimited, but please bring your own bag(s) to carry them in.  Availability of various clothing sizes will depend on donations we've received and potentially will receive.  There will be an area of the office as well as access to two bathrooms if you wish to try clothes on.

All clothes will be, to the best of our ability, sanitized.  Risk of getting COVID-19 from trying on clothes is extremely low, but even so, we will provide sanitation/disinfectant sprays for use on clothing items if you wish to try on slightly unclean items.

This event will take place in-person at the ACAS office (260 Spadina Ave, Suite 410, Toronto, Ontario, M5T 2E4, Canada), meaning that the number of people able to attend at once will be limited to 10 people (plus two facilitators) at a time.  Please be patient with us if we ask you to wait outside for a while.  As for accessibility needs, there is an elevator available, but it is slow.  It generally works, but we will let you know if it is unavailable.  Otherwise, there are stairs.

Masks are mandatory to attend this event.

If you have any questions or concerns, please email Dany at youth@acas.org.  All clothing items that are left over after the event will be donated to various other organizations or kept for future clothing swaps/events.

We understand that it's nerve-wracking to come alone to these sorts of events sometimes, for any number of reasons.  As such, we are allowing people to bring ONE other person with them, even if this guest does not necessarily identify as being Asian and/or on the 2SLGBTQIAP+ spectrum.  However, they MUST understand that this space prioritizes queer and/or trans Asian youth.  If you do not sign up with them but bring a guest to the office, the guest will be asked to stay outside of the building while you attend the clothing swap.
I can confirm that I identify as an Asian youth on the 2SLGBTQIAP+ spectrum (or am questioning); that I will be wearing a mask properly at this event; and that I will properly socially distance as much as possible at this event. *
Upon entering the office, you will have to sign in and confirm that you are experiencing no COVID-19 symptoms; have not been near someone self-isolating due to potentially having COVID-19; have not had contact with anyone who is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or is waiting for a test result; have not been advised to self-isolate for any reason; have not tested positive on a COVID-19 test in the past 10 days; and have not travelled outside of Canada in the past 14 days.
