Heroic Youth Volunteer Waiver
Thank you for being willing to join our Heroic Youth family as a volunteer! We are beyond grateful for all of the service our volunteers give in large and small ways.

Being a volunteer comes with specific responsibilities and requirements which are designed to keep everyone physically and spiritually safe and create the most immersive and enjoyable experience possible for all involved. Please carefully review the general information below to become familiar with these.
  1. If you do not already have a volunteer assignment (such as House Mentor or an assigned committee role), please register on our Volunteer page.
  2. This form is not for villains.  To register as a villain, please visit jointhefinalbattle.com. In some cases, you may participate as both a villain and a regular volunteer. In these cases, please register as a villain through the above site AND complete the volunteer registration below. Be sure to also make arrangements with both the villain coordinator AND the volunteer coordinator.
  3. All volunteers at the main event must complete all training requirements beforehand, including youth protection training. You will not be permitted to enter the event venue if you have not completed training before the event. Please visit the Calendar page for training dates. More details are listed later in this registration form.
  4. All volunteers at the main event must wear a costume. Volunteers provide their own costumes. Some positions have designated costume pieces such as tabards, sashes, or an overdress, which are provided by Heroic Youth at costume check-out on the day of the event, but most do not. Costumes can be simple and made from items you already have in your home. See the Costume Descriptions page of our website for guidelines and suggestions.
  5. Please keep in mind that children under age 8 are not allowed at the event, except for some extenuating circumstances. If you have children in this age range and would like to volunteer at the event, please make arrangements for them to be cared for outside of the event venue.  If this is not an option for you, please consider volunteering remotely - there are several remote positions that we need help with each year.
  6. Notes about the volunteer policy: (a) We ask that each family provide one volunteer. You do not need to provide an additional volunteer for every additional participant in your family, but we do encourage your whole family to join in the fun! (b) Volunteering as a villain absolutely counts towards your volunteer contribution. (c) If no one in your family is available to volunteer, please invite your friends! (d) Finally, we absolutely understand if volunteering is just not an option for your family this year. If this is the case, please contact the volunteer coordinator and we will be more than happy to accommodate your needs. 801-842-3846 heroicyouthvolunteers@gmail.com
