UC Berkeley Backed ‘DEIB In Web3’ Playbook Launches

Decentralised Web3 Communities Were Always An Opportunity For Women, The LGBTQ and under represented Communities across the globe to Get A Bigger Share Of The Pie.

New ‘Playbook DAO’ To Launch To Bind Together New Community

The impact of diversity on Web3 is a subject of increasing importance as we move towards a more decentralised and interconnected digital economy. Gender bias has been a pervasive issue in the tech industry and society at large, with women and other marginalised groups underrepresented in leadership roles and in the workforce as a whole.

Women in technology face numerous challenges that hinder their growth and success in the industry, and they leave the sector at twice the rate as their male colleagues.

Community support, education, early-age exposure, environment, socio-economic background, company culture, training in the workplace, access to finance, and government policies are all crucial factors that can make or break a woman's career in tech.

Gender is just one lens to look through when it comes to DEIB. There are of course many more, which this playbook will look to address.

The DEIB in Web 3 Playbook is a resource for organisational leaders in the Web 3 space to learn about and enhance diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) within their organisations. This playbook provides concrete guidance to advance DEIB and serves as a bridge between academia and industry. The purpose of the playbook is to be an actionable resource and tool that will highlight a path forward for Web 3 that centres equity and inclusion.

It’s a constantly evolving resource that includes:

  • Dedicated Website & Portal

  • Steering Group

  • Playbook DAO for those shaping and guiding the playbook outside of UC Berkeley faculty

  • Key Industry Leaders

  • SaaS Model implementation of Playbook

  • Digital Dashboard

And we need everyone to be involved. How would you like to get involved?
