1. To qualify for this scholarship, you must meet one of the following criteria: a. You must be a child, grandchild, spouse, or sibling of an honorably-discharged veteran who is either living or deceased. Priority will be given to a veteran relative who is a member of the American Legion family. b. You are an active duty service person. c. You are an honorably-discharged veteran. *
Applications must be submitted via hard copy or electronically (via Google form) to the Robert E. Coulter, Jr. Unit 1941, American Legion Auxiliary, 900 South La Grange Road, La grange, IL 60525 no later than April 30, 2022. Late applications will not be accepted.
The information requested about you and/or you family members will be used to determine your eligibility or connection to a veteran/active duty person. You may be asked to present a military ID or a copy of the veteran’s DD-214 and/or their Post Member ID #.
Following the receipt of this application, the Scholarship Committee will give careful consideration to all applicants. Those applicants approved by the Scholarship committee will be notified by May 15, 2022.  Decisions of the Scholarship committee will be final.
Answer all questions completely. Incomplete applications will be disqualified.
Funds will be issued via a check made payable to your educational institution directly.
