School Year 2021-22 Budgets
In initial budgets proposed by DCPS, 49 schools received cuts. Thanks to our advocacy, last week, Mayor Bowser and Chancellor Ferebee announced that the city is committing an additional $14 million in recovery funding for DC Public Schools to directly support DCPS school budgets for Fiscal Year 2022 (FY22), the 2021-2022 School Year. DCPS has stated that these additional funds will hold schools harmless from the impact of year-over-year enrollment shifts and fulfill all outstanding budget assistance requests from school communities. All schools should have a FY22 budget that at least matches FY21 funding levels for this school year.

Even with this announcement, OUR WORK IS NOT DONE.
