2023 - 2024 - REPORT AN ABSENCE FORM (Walsh Middle School):

For student absences, please fill out this form WITHIN 2 DAYS of the absence. Notes will NOT be accepted AFTER 2 days of the absence. Excused absences are ONLY for a student's personal illness or a death in the immediate family. The green sign in/out sheet at the Main Office does NOT excuse your student's absence(s).

For a doctor's appointment, a DOCTOR'S NOTE MUST be sent in WITHIN 2 DAYS of your student returning to school. A doctor's note is REQUIRED if your student is out (for illness) for more than 5 consecutive days.

Absence notes should be from the parent/guardian or a medical provider stating the student’s name, date(s) and reason for the absence. LATE notes can be used to avoid possible truancy, but the absences will stay unexcused.

Students should bring their absence notes to the Attendance Office when they return from their absence(s). You do not need to call the school to report an absence.

If your student visited the SCHOOL NURSE and is choosing to go home (please refer to RRISD policy- roundrockisd.org/health-services/health-guidelines-for-school-attendance), then you will still need to fill out a parent note to excuse the absence(s).

Home Access: Please check your parents' Home Access Center account (roundrockisd.org/hac/) for any questions regarding which days or periods your student missed. If you believe there was an error, please contact the teacher(s) during the period(s) your student missed.

Truancy: If you received a truancy letter and have questions, please contact your grade-level Assistant Principal. They will communicate with you further about any questions you may have regarding your student's truancy.
