Do you have what it takes to be a Blossom Ranger? Being a Ranger is the pinnacle of volunteering and by far the most rewarding. Blossom Rangers patrol the festival looking out for the best interests of the Blossom Community as a whole. Rangers are friendly, approachable and always up for a chat. Rangers are generally the first point of contact for community members in need of assistance.
All Blossom Rangers are required to complete a free half day training course based on the teachings of the Burning Man Black Rock Rangers. During the training, you will develop a range of skills to effectively navigate and manage situations that may occur at the festival.
Blossom Rangers are full time volunteers and will be required to complete either three regular shifts or two longer shifts depending on how the Head Ranger needs to allocate resources.
It is preferable that we have high number of Rangers with Working with Children Checks. Blossom Festival will pay for all successful Rangers which would like to obtain a Working with Children Check.
Volunteer Deposits
If you are a successful volunteer, you may be required to pay a deposit. The deposit is equivalent to a lower tier ticket price. The deposit helps us cover your insurance and acts as a reassurance of your commitment to the role. Deposits will be refunded (minus booking fees) based on the number of allocated shifts completed in accordance with the conditions in the volunteer agreement completed after acceptance. Returning volunteers may be exempt from paying a deposit and Blossom Festival's absolute discretion.
We appreciate and respect the time and energy provided by every volunteer and we hope you understand that as a young festival we very much rely on volunteers to make our event viable and to help our festival and community grow in future years.
