QUT Big Lift will be visiting the town of Goondiwindi for the first time! This will be a fresh new experience for Big Lift. We will be volunteering at their community festival, the Goondiwindi Show, from Friday 30th April to Sunday 2nd May.

Current itinerary:
- Depart early morning on Friday at 8am to arrive at the Goondiwindi Showgrounds in one of their unused sheds (our accommodation - camping style) around noon.
- Upon arrival the Goondiwindi Show will already be in full swing, so after settling in we will get straight into volunteering.
- Volunteering jobs on Friday and Saturday include assisting entry ticketing, supporting and involvement in farmers challenge, helping to run their Showjump competition, administrative assistance and pack down.
- We'll spend the evenings doing some Service Learning, playing boardgames and ballgames and getting to know each other.
- Head home for Brisbane around 12pm on Sunday and arrive back at QUT around 4-5pm
- There will also be plenty of time to try the food on offer, have a look around the stalls and participate in some of the activities at the event.

This is an amazing opportunity for you to learn about the rural community spirit of Goondiwindi with Big Lift! Not only will you be doing some hands-on volunteering and interacting with the locals, it's also a chance to learn and develop your knowledge through facilitated Service Learning discussions.

We expect the cost of this Mini Lift to be no more than $50. This will include transport (we'll be getting onboard a mini bus), accommodation and food. Please note that we will be sleeping in sheds, so you will need to bring your own sleeping bag etc. If you think cost will be an issue, please get in touch with us - we wouldn't want to turn you away simply because of your financial situation.

This is merely an expression of interest form. First in are best dressed - very unfortunately we can only take about 20 volunteers, as bus capacity is very limited. We will send more information later to your email for confirmation if you've secured a spot, so keep an eye out in the coming weeks.
