WSF 2022 Volunteer Call
Thank you for showing interest in becoming a Winstep Forward (WSF) Volunteer.

Volunteers will be assisting with organization, frontend, and backend work for WSF's multiple programs and events in the following areas-

Areas:

1. Virtual and in-person event and conference organization (eg: Field Session, Annual Events, Scientific Discourse Webinars)
2. Management of Programs like Mentorship Program, Undergraduate Mentorship Program, Student Exchange Programs, Entrepreneurship Programs
3. Creating Virtual Education content by becoming Subject Matter Experts, Video Content Creators
4. Outreaching through social media and establishing new contacts
5. Management & Automation of Database
6. Creation of flyers/graphics
7. Video Editing
8. Website maintenance and improvement
9. Grant writing

Time Commitment Level: ~10 hours/month

In general, each area requires approximately 2-3 hours per week commitment, in addition to attending a 30min-1hr meeting every 2 weeks. More information about each task is given within the form.

More Details about the Volunteering Positions
1. Event organization includes selection and invitation of speakers, planning of agenda and event format, selection of venue and catering (for in-person event), moderation of event, coordinating with outreach and graphics group, etc.

2. Program Management includes assisting with sending out application calls, managing documents, keeping in touch with mentees, mentors and program attendees, compilation of information etc.

3. Outreach coordination includes maintaining established contacts (through social media, emails and newsletter), sending out regular posts on social media platforms and creating new contacts by reaching out, calling, emailing and setting up meetings.

4. Database Management includes keeping track of records, automation of record keeping, organization of databases, etc.

5. Graphics and Video Editing: Creating flyers or promotional/informational videos for the events, creation of logos, etc.

6. Website Management: Creating of pages and icons, Uploading of new content, HTML coding for ongoing website development, etc.

7. Virtual Education Content Creation includes —(1) providing subject matter expertise in your particular STEM topic to include in   online tutorial, (2) collating existing online resources to create a virtual education library, and (3) recording and editing online video content.

8. Grant writing includes finding appropriate opportunities, writing letter of intent and parts of proposals, etc.
