22x Steering Committee Nomination Form
Complete and submit this form to self-nominate for election as a Beat 22x Neighborhood Council Steering Committee Member.

Steering Committee membership is open to residents of Police Beat 22x, to merchants whose place of business is within Beat 22x, and to members of associations and institutions located within Beat 22x. Members are elected by attendees of the General Meeting who are 18 years of age or older.

Officers are selected directly by steering committee members. If you are interested in being a chair, co-chair, secretary, or treasurer, please read descriptions of these positions in the "Officers" section of this form and indicate your interest there.

Steering committee members will be elected at the general meeting on Tuesday, February 9, 2021.

Notes:  

All nominees must be verified as current residents of Police Beat 22x, a merchant whose place of business is within Beat 22x, or a member of an association or institution located within Beat 22x.

All nominees must attend two Beat 22x General Meetings before being elected to the steering committee. The February 9, 2021 meeting counts as one of the two meetings.

The General Meeting must have at least 20 members present to conduct a binding vote.

All individuals nominated must be present at the 22x Neighborhood Council General Meeting to be included in the vote. Those nominated who are not present will not be considered for full membership until a vote is arranged at a future meeting with a minimum of 20 people present..

All nominations must be submitted no later than when the Chair calls for nominations at the February 9, 2021 neighborhood council general meeting.  

Each candidate for steering committee membership will be given an opportunity to briefly introduce themselves and discuss both their involvement in the 22x neighborhood council and their approach to community policing in Oakland.
