Archivists for Congregations of Women Religious (ACWR) offers a webinar with Dr. Shannen Dee Williams on
Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at 2 p.m. EST.
Scholars of US Black Catholic women and girls,
religious and lay, face a host of barriers in the fight to recover,
reclaim, and write histories of their subjects. This presentation will
outline these core barriers as well as consider the politics,
challenges, and necessity of building traditional and nontraditional
archives for this largely overlooked group of American Catholic women.
