1.  Try a non-dairy milk or ice cream.
Cows make methane gas with their burps!  And all that gas is making our planet too hot.  So if you eat less milk and cream, you can help keep things cool.   Cashew, soy, oat, almond -- there are lots of options!

2.  Use scrap paper for drawing and writing.
Recycling is good, but it still uses a lot of energy.  Reusing is even better!  You can turn an old sheet of paper into a fresh one just by turning it over!

3.  Write a letter to a member of parliament.
Your Member of Parliament (or MP) represents your part of the country in the government.  Tell them climate change is important for you.  You can send a letter or postcard to your MP for free!  Look up their address here: (https://www.ourcommons.ca/members/en).

5. Make a list of your favourite vegan foods!
Lots of yummy foods that you already eat are vegan.  Bananas, oranges, peanut butter, tomatoes -- even popcorn!  At our house we use nutritional yeast to give it a cheesy flavour.

6. Try making a craft out of leaves.
When you buy things from a store they are made in factories and shipped all around the world and that uses a lot of energy.  If you find ways to have fun with natural materials its good for the planet.  Plus, spending time in nature is good for your health.

This leaf art is by the artist Andy Goldsworthy.  He used the leaves on the ground to make the tree glow.
7. Make a video telling people about climate change.
What do you think grown-ups should know about climate change?  Our daughter says: "I got this idea from when I was recorded giving out Fridays for Future flyers."
