We, at the Asia Pacific Refugee Rights Network (APRRN) Youth Working Group, are planning a Youth Summit later this year to bring all refugee youth advocates together! We hope for the summit to be a space where you are able to connect with other youth, build solidarity, create opportunities for learning and skills-sharing, and jointly strategise and discuss pertinent issues affecting rights of refugee youth.
The APRRN Youth Working Group strives to make sure that refugee youth are
• able to self-advocate
• be part of important decision-making processes and discussions
• able to influence or lead advocacy efforts to bring about meaningful and sustainable change.
Back in 2021, some of you participated in our 'Supporting Refugee Youth-Led Organisations in the Asia Pacific Region' research project and shared ways you would like to be supported as youth advocates. One of the main recommendations you made was a space for you and your peers from the other Asia Pacific countries and a Youth Summit where all youth advocates can meet. We hear you and are making that happen!
