COVID-19 Face Shields for Hospitals - Driver Volunteers (Peninsula)
Hospitals being struck hard by COVID-19 and are suffering massive supply shortages, are missing essential materials including Personal Protective Equipment. Kuriosity Robotics, a community robotics team based in Palo Alto, is helping with Maker Nexus's project of manufacturing and donating face shields to these hospitals by 3D printing frames and organizing a broader effort within the community. Drivers are needed to help transport frames from the community to Maker Nexus, and possibly from Maker Nexus to the hospitals.

Driver volunteers will not have to make any physical contact with any other people. Maker Nexus's efforts have been recognized as an essential service. Drivers will only be asked to handle plastic bags, and those who print are instructed to handle these bags with masks + gloves. It would be best for drivers to also have masks + gloves.

There is no set cycle for how often we will need a transportation cycle, but currently we're looking at once every few days.

Make sure to ask your friends and family to also help out the cause, by printing, volunteering, or donating. If you are able, please consider spreading our initiative further, for example through social media. Don't hesitate to email kuriosityrobotics@gmail.com if you would like to volunteer in other ways or have any questions.

Your help is greatly appreciated and truly does assist hospitals.
