Keeping Village Fire running smoothly takes a team! If you are interested in stepping up to help in ways beyond what the average villager will contribute while at camp, please fill out this application and we will get in touch with you soon for further conversation.

Work Trade Positions:
- Kitchen Coordinator (2 positions): Work with Ruthie and our kitchen crew to get food onto tables in time for meals; scrub pots and pans; and help direct the work of the volunteers that come to help clean and organize the kitchen after the meal rush.
- Parking and Grounds Coordinator (2 positions): Keep camp running smoothly and looking spiffy. Tasks are split between both positions and include: setting up the parking lot and directing vehicles as they arrive; checking on bathrooms and leading our bathroom cleaning volunteers; tidying our main shelter area throughout the day; refilling water, tea and coffee; and coordinating our main shelter volunteers to clean thoroughly at the end of each day.
- Mealtime Coordinator (3 positions): Mealtimes have many moving parts! Set up the dishwashing stations; move clean and dirty dishes; orient and manage the dishwashing and kitchen cleaning volunteer groups; ensure smooth operation of dishwashing lines; and clean up shelter area after meals end.
- Song Circle Recording Coordinator (1 position): Help us archive the beautiful sounds of Village Fire song circles. This position would involve training recording team volunteers to set up and operate the recorders, scheduling volunteers to record song circles, assisting with the recorder set up as needed, and organizing the recorders and recordings each morning.

All of our positions this year are considered full-time positions. While our goal is to focus more on the work that needs to be accomplished than the number of hours worked each day, full-time in this case averages out to about 4 hours per day. This means you will miss some camp events, but there will still be plenty of time to enjoy Village Fire. Your work will cover the full registration fee.
We ask work traders to arrive at Village Fire on the morning of Sunday, June 7, for orientation and to help with set-up. These first two days (Sunday and Monday) may be longer than 4 hours because we have so much to accomplish to get camp ready for 300 people, but we always have a great team and it’s usually pretty fun! If you’d like to apply for a work trade position but you don’t think you can come early, please let us know and we will see if we can accommodate a different arrival time.
Because there are limited work trade positions available, we recommend that you fill out a Village Fire registration form (or wait list form) as well to hold your place at camp while we process the work trade applications. It is probable that not all who apply will end up in a work trade position, and we want to do our best to help you get to camp either way. Registration opens the morning of March 12 and might fill quickly.
