Stanford Libraries have partnered with Stanford's Lobell Lab and The Natural Capital Project to enter into a three-year subscription to provide access to Planet.com's daily PlanetScope imagery, and automated monthly and quarterly composite tile-services.
Note also that we have negotiated several "rights" which should inform your use of the Planet imagery products:
* Basemap services are un-metered
*Downloaded scenes from the PlanetScope Daily Imagery archive may be subsequently re-downloaded, within the Stanford University account, without metering.
* Downloaded scenes from the PlanetScope Daily Imagery archive may be redistributed, internal to Stanford University affiliates, in perpetuity.
* Downloaded scenes from the PlanetScope Daily Imagery archive may be retained on Stanford University computing infrastructure, in perpetuity, in support of peer-review publication and other products of research. Access to these data products may only be provided within the Stanford IP
* Downloaded scenes from the PlanetScope Daily Imagery archive and Automated basemap services may be used within third-party SaaS applications (such as Google Earth Engine and Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Task Manager), as long as access to Planet imagery and services is strictly restricted to Stanford affiliates.
