Did you know that Illinois is loaded with forgotten buried treasure? Millions of dollars in gold and silver are right under your feet – if you can find it.

Here's an old tale that has been told once before. Let's see if you have what it takes to solve this mystery and strike it rich.

Between 1685 and 1702, Henri de Tonti was the most powerful man in central Illinois, near the city of Utica. He was a character of legend, even though most people do not remember him today. He lost his right hand at the Battle of the Messina Revolt during the Third Anglo-Dutch War and replaced it with a hook. During his time exploring the Illinois River Valley, he accumulated millions in gold.

Historians believed he buried the treasure near Utica, IL. Before his death, Henri de Tonti wrote a letter to Father Merton (a longtime friend) with very strict instructions to bury his treasure and belongings where no one would find it. Rumor has it that Father Merton buried the treasure and left clues to its whereabouts in his bible. Years later Mr. Wells, a longtime Park Forest resident, found the letter in an old antique bible that his father owned.

Here’s the scenario:

You are a descendant of Mr. Wells and find a box in your family's home with a letter and key inside. You are aware of the story, however, unlike other family members you believe the treasure to be real and put together a team to find it.

You have a hunch that the treasure was buried at the intersection of Lakewood and Orchard in Park Forest, IL. This is where the LIBRARY building is. The key from the box gets you into the Park Forest Public Library after hours. The staff have all gone home for the day; however, the janitor will arrive in less than 60 minutes. This leaves you less than 60 minutes to find the clues, solve the puzzles, and locate the hidden treasure. Hurry, you must escape before anyone notices. Be careful, don’t sound the alarm this will alert the Park Forest Police Department and you will be caught for trespassing.
