This training reviews the importance of observation and documentation for planning instruction that meets each child’s individual needs. Methods that can be used to document children’s development will be discussed as well as how the documentation can be used to plan classroom instruction. Within 10 days of completion of this training, you will recieve a certificate of completion for 3 hours of training and ECE-TRIS credit if requested.

If your program uses a published assessment tool (AEPS, Carolina Curriculum, COR, TSG, or WSS) read through the developmental indicators for social-emotional development and choose one skill you would target. If your program does not use a published assessment tool, use either the Kentucky Revised Early Childhood Standards linked HERE or the CDC Developmental Checklist linked HERE. Choose a Social-Emotional Skill you would target in your classroom or program. List the skill you chose in the space provided.  *

Read the Case Study linked HERE. If you program uses a published assessment instrument, review the Social-Emotional indicators from your instrument to answer the following questions.
