PHONE, ELECTRONIC DEVICE, & CONTACT POLICY Electronics are part of the everyday life of most Scouts. There are many useful applications that can be included in the Scouting experience. Like any tool, these devices must be used properly, safely and without intruding on others. Use for cameras is acceptable during the course. Unless there is “free time”, the device should be in an airplane mode and devices should not be used for online or communication purposes. If a parent/guardian needs to contact an NYLT participant or staff member, they should use the respective camp’s emergency number. During presentation/learning activities, devices should be put away. The ability to charge batteries will be very limited. Power at the campsites is not to be used (due to potential fire hazard). The privacy of all participants and staff should be observed especially when posting pictures online. No pictures should be taken in shower areas, inside tents or other situations that might be considered to be compromising or embarrassing. Pictures of fellow participants and staff members should not be posted online without the permission of the person in the picture. Scouts should not make arrangements for any person to come to camp without permission from the Course Director (this includes deliveries). Any violation may result in the device being taken away immediately, the home unit leader being notified, and expulsion from the course. Scouts and their parents/guardians take full responsibility for any loss or damage to devices. NYLT and/or GLAAC is not responsible for devices brought on course. Your parents and the youth are to write their full name acknowledging they have read, agree to comply with, and fully understand the NYLT Phone, Electronic Device and Contact Policy. If you don't agree. Don't come to the course. *
