All Women of Martech members are invited to attend a town hall meeting where we will introduce LeadsCoucil. During this meeting WOM members will have an opportunity to hear more about the transition and ask questions.  

Here is an overview of the WOM announcement sent to all members in June.

As of July 1, Women of Martech officially became a business unit within the LeadsCouncil DE&I umbrella. This move allows WOM to:

- Continue its mission with support across the marketing technology industry
- Avoid any perceived bias with regard to DMS and the WOM recruitment or amplification initiatives
- Provide increased visibility and amplification opportunities for our members

Of note with regard to LeadsCouncil:

- LeadsCouncil is currently undergoing a realignment effort to better represent the broader performance marketing community it already serves. A name change has been approved and will be announced this summer.
- WOM is regularly discussed and promoted as part of the LeadsCouncil DE&I initiatives, which means awareness of WOM among LeadsCouncil is already significant.
- The LeadsCouncil leadership is extremely supportive of bringing WOM in as a business unit, recognizing it represents a win-win opportunity for WOM and LeadsCouncil.
- DMS, the founding sponsor of WOM, has been involved in the leadership of LeadsCouncil and its DE&I subcommittee since their inceptions.

What does this announcement mean for WOM?

As a business unit within the LeadsCouncil, WOM will be able to continue its mission with greater support and more amplification opportunities for our members. No immediate changes are planned for WOM, but we expect to have the opportunity to participate in some of the live events being planned by LeadsCouncil this year. Additionally, although we are not anticipating any significant changes to the WOM organizational structure, we are reviewing the WOM bylaws to ensure they fit properly within LeadsCouncil.
