Board Responsibilities

Board responsibilities encompass a range of crucial tasks and duties aimed at overseeing and guiding the strategic direction of an organization. Key elements include:

Strategic Planning:
   - Actively participate in the development and implementation of the organization's strategic plan.

Meeting Preparation:
   - Review meeting agendas and relevant materials prior to board meetings for informed decision-making.

Financial Oversight:
   - Approve budgets, audit reports, and major business decisions, ensuring fiduciary responsibilities are met.

Leadership Evaluation:
   - Contribute to the evaluation of executive leadership, such as the Executive Director, on an annual basis.

Board Recruitment:
   - Assist in identifying and recruiting new board members to bring diverse skills and perspectives.

Resolution Implementation:
   - Work collaboratively to ensure effective implementation of board resolutions and decisions.

Committee Participation:
   - Serve on committees or task forces, contributing to specific areas of expertise or focus.

Diversity and Inclusion:
   - Ensure diversity and inclusion within the board and the organization's staff, reflecting the community served.

Policy Establishment:
   - Deliberate on and establish policies that guide the organization's operations and conduct.

Public Accountability:
    - Be accountable to the public by ensuring competent, conscientious, and effective fulfillment of the organization's obligations.

Strategic Leadership:
    - Direct and inspire the organization through thoughtful decision-making, policy development, and strategic planning.

Board responsibilities collectively aim to provide effective governance, safeguard the organization's interests, and contribute to its long-term success.

 Our mission is to empower, strengthen, and improve children's mental health by providing professional, educational and other resources to families navigating divorce, incarceration, or the loss of a parent.

At Stuck In The Middle, our vision is personal and isn't that complex. We know three essential things:  children are our future, hurt people hurt people, and it really does take a village to raise a child.

By helping to promote awareness, and provide resources and support for mental health to children and their families, we are helping to build healthier minds, a kinder world, and a better future for us all.
