Report an Absence Online
Complete this form to clear a partial or full-day absence. A partial day absence excuse is needed if your child is more than 30 minutes late to school. If your child is less than 30 minutes late, it is considered a tardy.

We excuse absence per California Educational Code Section 48205.

Per LVUSD and AHS attendance policies. All absences MUST be cleared within 72 hours or the absence will be considered unexcused(AR 5113).

If your student was marked ABSENT BY ERROR for a certain period, PLEASE HAVE YOUR STUDENT TALK TO THE TEACHER TO CORRECT THE ATTENDANCE ON AERIES.

If a student leaves campus WITHOUT obtaining an Off-Campus pass, the absence CANNOT be cleared by the parent/guardian and will be recorded as UNEXCUSED.

Please check the Aeries parent portal to verify that all absences have been cleared.

Additional Information/Clarification:
Regular Attendance is Essential For Learning
The primary responsibility of the student is to be in class to maximize his/her opportunities for success. Excessive tardiness and absences have a direct correlation to poor student performance and are detrimental to the learning environment. Parents, students, teachers, and administrators all have a shared responsibility to ensure that a quality education is a priority. Las Virgenes Unified School District’s attendance policy is directed toward achieving that goal.  When a child is excessively absent, a conference will be held.  Excessive absences may result in referral to the School Attendance Review Board (SARB).
