The District Leadership Team of the Riverside Community School District is planning for a safe and successful return to learning next school year for all of our learners and staff. To support our planning, we would appreciate your response to a short survey so we can understand your family’s and learner’s needs during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Although we would like to know your feedback about all of the questions, you may skip any that do not apply to you or that you are uncomfortable answering. All of your responses are anonymous and will be grouped with all other parent/guardian responses in the district.

The survey will be open from Thursday June 18, 2020 to Sunday June 28, 2020. If you have any questions about the survey, please contact tmitchell@riverside.k12.ia.us.

Phased Reopening-Schools bring back students in groups (Ex: Grades--K, 1 & 2) while others learn remotely. Schools would gradually welcome all students back to school.

Multi-Track System-Schools operate on a track schedule, with groups of students in school buildings on different days and remote on other days when not in building. This could also be elementary students in buildings and Middle/High School students learning remotely.

Staggered Schedules-Half students in morning while the other half come in afternoon. Keep siblings together in groups. Students would be remote learning when not in buildings.

Bubble Strategies-All students return but are kept in one room together all day, even for breaks and lunch. Different teachers rotate to classrooms. This is the CDC recommended approach.

Cyclical Lockdown Strategy- School would alternate between being open and closed. Students would come for a period of time and then stay home and work remotely for a period of time.

Year-Round Schedule-Schools divide students into groups. One group meets for nine weeks while the other groups work remotely. Then they switch for none weeks.

Traditional Start-All students return to school under CDC Guidance for Hygiene, Social Distancing, Disinfecting and Sanitizing. Parents who prefer to have students not attend in person take school remotely.
