The Richard G. Levad Award is made annually in memory of Rich, who made outstanding contributions to ornithology throughout his career as a teacher and as a staff member of the Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory (now dba as Bird Conservancy of the Rockies). The award recognizes persons who have engaged others to conserve birds and their habitats by sharing personal knowledge, experience, and passion and have provided distinguished service and/or knowledge to the ornithological community in the heart of the Rocky Mountain and Great Plains regions.
Nominations will be accepted through Monday, Aug. 31, 2022. The awardee is selected by the Levad Award Committee, announced in September, and awarded in October at Bird Conservancy’s Annual Gala and Fundraiser.
