About the Class:

— Somatic Partnering & Body Mapping —
The purpose of somatic partner work is to teach practitioners about physiological pathways and to re-wire neural connections in their bodies, enabling them to find new creative movement possibilities. The class will begin with a guided sequence of physical and sensory cues from a partner. While receiving these cues, participants are led through practices of proprioception and awareness, tapping into the “Soma” - the body perceived from within. As the class progresses, participants will be asked to explore movement from within this state of heightened awareness, interweaving a conscious mind-body connection into their creativity. After a short break, participants will return with notebooks and pens to go through a short seminar-style class focusing on a physiological system within body mapping. The focus of the body mapping section will change workshop to workshop.

Come ready to move with a water bottle, notebook and pen.
