Study the Impact caused to the construction projects due to the shortage of workers on site

What is the purpose of this research?
This study will concentrate on the impact done to construction projects when employees avoid the job sites and how this impact results from a shortage of workers on the job site in UK due to the three main factors: - Lack of skill candidates, Brexit and Covid 19. Will also examine what steps are taken to finish these projects and make up the damage. To understand why majority shortage of labours in construction are Groundworkers, Bricklayers, Plant operatives, Dryliners.

Do I have to take part?
No, taking part in this research is entirely voluntary. It is up to you to decide if you want to volunteer for the study. We will describe the study in this information sheet. If you agree to take part, we will then ask you to sign the attached consent form.

Will my taking part in this research be kept confidential?
Yes. If you check the box to make the survey answer completely anonymous, I won't be able to identify the people who respond to the online survey surveys. When the research project is finished, this Participant Consent Form will be destroyed and maintained in absolute confidence.

What will happen if I don’t want to carry on with the study?
As a volunteer you can stop any participation Survey Questioners at any time, or withdraw from the study at any time before May 4, without giving a reason if you do not wish to. If you do withdraw from a study after some data have been collected you will be asked if you are content for the data collected thus far to be retained and included in the study. If you prefer, the data collected can be destroyed and not included in the study. Once the research has been completed, and the data analysed, it will not be possible for you to withdraw your data from the study.

Shortages can slow or delay a project by huge numbers.

Increase investment in training and development for all staff, giving them opportunities to grow and progress in their careers as this will also boost firms’ productivity and revenue.
Improve staff engagement when considering benefits and conditions. This could include introducing flexible working arrangements, mentoring programmes, and regular pay and benefits reviews.
Implement equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) policies with your internal workforce. Address imbalances in the labour market by recruiting from more diverse talent pools and providing tailored support for employees.
Outsource temporary labourers from agency’s on higher pay or from other countries
Invest in new technology As a long-term strategy to invest in new technology and software that may reduce the need for employees, especially in relatively low-skilled positions, or help make the lives of staff easier.
