Green Party of New York State Candidate Endorsement Application

This questionnaire will be evaluated by members of the Campaign Committee to ascertain the degree of endorsement provided to each candidate. Evaluators will use the following criteria for determining each candidate's rating:

1. Ability to communicate your message to voters.

2. Ability to organize volunteers, donors, and supporters.

3. Your voter analysis and voter mobilization plan.

4. The organization of your finance plan.

Each member of the Campaign Committee will rate each candidate on a scale of 1 to 5. Candidates who receive an average rating of 3 or higher will have access to the state party’s voter, volunteer, and donor lists. Candidates who receive an average rating of 4 or higher will receive special promotion through social media and other channels. Candidates who receive an average rating of 5 will receive an amount of money from the state party. All candidates, especially first-time candidates, are encouraged to contact the Campaign Committee for advice, an initial discussion, and/or other assistance at campcomm@gpny.org.
 
You must complete and return this questionnaire or a campaign plan to be considered for endorsement by the Green Party Of New York (GPNY) and to receive the above-mentioned rating. Endorsement is a process by which candidates gain support from the GPNY, not to be confused with procedures necessary to appear on the ballot, such as petitioning or receiving a designation. It must also be understood that state party funds are limited and distributed on a competitive basis, and that there may be times when the state party is unable to give any money to candidates during a particular year.

Once completed, send this document and any relevant attachments (resume, budget, links to media coverage) to campcomm@gpny.org. Be as detailed as possible and mark "N/A" when a question does not apply to you. We hope this questionnaire, in addition to informing the GPNY of your intention to run for office, can serve as a tool to help you develop a stronger campaign.

Please note that a campaign plan and budget can be submitted to campcomm@gpny.org in lieu of this candidate application.
