ELIGIBILITY

Any Carbon County resident or property owner must register online to enter exhibits in all departments of the Fair, subject to the exhibiting rules. The online entry form must be completely filled out.
Any article exhibited at the Carbon County Fair must have been produced in Carbon County and prepared within the current fair year (May 30 - June 01, 2024).
Anyone attempting to deceive the Carbon County Fair Officials in regard to ownership shall forfeit all claims as an exhibitor.

GENERAL RULES

The Carbon County Fair Committee reserves the right to interpret all rules and conditions and the right to accept or reject an entry for sufficient cause in the best interest and standards of the Fair.
All disputes in Open Class competition must be made in writing to the Carbon County Fair Committee.
Awards may be withheld for failure to adhere to the rules.
Entries are limited to Carbon County residents. Non-residents may enter items as Display Only. These items will not be judged and will not be eligible to receive premiums.
The Carbon County Fair Committee will NOT be responsible for the theft, damage to, or breakage of an entry.
Exhibitors may enter one item in each Lot. Limit of 3 items in each Department, unless otherwise specified.
Items that have been used or worn may not be entered.
Items exhibited at a previous Carbon County Fair may not be resubmitted for judging, unless the item is entered for Display Only. Display Only items will not be judged and are not eligible to receive premiums.
Models purchased in kits will be accepted for display only.
No unfinished work will be accepted for entry.
Original designs should be labeled as such.
If an exhibit consists of a set, it will be judged as one exhibit.
Entries will be accepted in the Miscellaneous class only if there is not a class listed for that item.
All Open Class exhibits must remain intact until Saturday, June 01, 2024 at 4:00 p.m.
Exhibit pick up times will be Saturday, June 01, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. through 6:00 p.m. If you are unable to leave your exhibits until this time, or pick up your exhibits by this time, please do not bring your exhibit. If you need to make special arrangements to pick up your exhibit(s), please contact the USU Extension Office at (435) 636-3233.
Exhibits and premium money not claimed by Saturday, June 01, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. will become the property of Carbon County Fair Committee.

PREMIUMS, AWARDS, AND JUDGMENTS

A maximum of $50.00 premium money will be awarded per Exhibitor. Special Awards are subject to change and will be paid out if sponsored this year.
Exhibits will be judged and ribbons awarded in accordance with the Danish System.
Judges/Fair Officials may disqualify or award 1st, 2nd, or 3rd premiums at his/her discretion. The Judge/Fair Official shall disqualify or transfer to the correction Division or Class (at his/her discretion) any exhibit which is not a true representative of the Division or Class in which it is entered. The Judge/Fair Official may disqualify any exhibit not of show quality. The Carbon County Fair Committee reserves the right to reduce premiums in each class if the awards exceed the amount allocated.
Any errors in the recording of premiums will be subject to correction.
Premiums will be paid only upon receipt of the Judges’/Fair Officials sheets.
Every effort will be made to pay premiums in cash beginning Friday, May 31, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., and on Saturday, June 01, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Premiums will not be mailed.
The Carbon County Fair Committee does not guarantee delivery of premiums or prizes donated by businesses and/or individuals.
Interference by exhibitors to influence the decision of the judges will be sufficient cause to exclude his or her entry from competition and shall be reported to the Carbon County Fair Committee.
Decisions of the judges are final.
Cash premiums will be awarded as follows:

$3.00 FIRST PLACE Blue Ribbon
$2.00 SECOND PLACE Red Ribbon
$15.00 Commissioners Choice Ribbon
-plus a Blue Ribbon for a total of $18.00
$10.00 Grand Champion Ribbon
-plus a Blue Ribbon for a total of $13.00
