Financial Coaching -UW Extension Dane County
Financial Coaching's model A|4 Model is a client centered approach meant to help a person identify financial goals, strengths, knowledge gaps, and ways to create long-lasting behavior change. A minimum of four sessions is suggested. The focus for these 4 sessions includes defining the client’s short and long term goals, increasing awareness surrounding the goals and desired behavior change, and preparing for self-sustaining behaviors after the coaching relationship comes to an end.

Coaching is meant to support and empower the client to reach self-defined goals. Financial coaching can provide neutral, confidential, non-judgmental accountability and motivation to help people to get where they want to go. Coaching is not direct case management, advising, planning or legal advice. Participants may be referred to other professionals, depending on the situation.
