Firehouse Art Center Teen Internship
With an art internship, you can start building an art career today. While art school provides a strong educational foundation for a career in the arts, you need to develop real-world skills to be successful. As an intern, you’ll cultivate your talent as you learn from accomplished professionals, while assisting in curating shows, planning events, handling operations, and designing materials.  The Firehouse Art Center Internship offers students a hands-on gallery, event and art education experience.  The gallery is looking for individuals who demonstrate good problem solving skills, are capable of working independently and as a team player, and are eager to learn and grow!  The internship will run monthly starting in June with an option to continue in July and August.

Qualifications: High school or high school graduate (prefer rising high school junior, senior, or high school graduate, but accepting all high school applications) with interest in fine art, art education, advertising, graphic design, or related field.  An interest in modern and contemporary art is essential, as are excellent communication skills—both written and spoken.  Interns should be available to work 8-15 hours per week. Students desiring service hours or academic credit for their internship must make appropriate arrangements with their high school.

Desirable skills: fluent in creating art, strong design fundamentals (color, form, layout), exposure to graphic design, adobe creative suite, adobe illustrator, adobe creative cloud, adobe after effects, adobe indesign, adobe premiere pro, keynote, adobe photoshop, photography, digital illustration, animation
