Governing Board Nominations

The Baconton Community Charter School Governing Board is comprised of up to eleven members with both appointed and elected positions who serve a three-year term.  It shall be the function of the Governing Board to uphold the Charter School’s mission and vision, to set policy for the Charter School, to work collaboratively with school officials to ensure the Charter School complies with the performance goals, to ensure effective organizational planning, and to ensure financial stability of the Charter School.

COMPENSATION

All board members serve on a voluntary basis and receive no compensation for their time.  Time spent at board and committee meetings counts as volunteer hours for those members with children attending school.

TIME
Being a member of the Governing Board requires a significant time commitment.  Board members are expected to attend monthly board meetings and serve on committees. You must be available to the members, other leaders, and staff as necessary.  Attending school functions, participating in activities at school, and supporting our staff in other ways are also essential.

TRAINING
Governing Board members MUST complete training by attending the State Charter School Commission training sessions held in various locations annually around the state.  By submitting your application for consideration, you are agreeing to complete the annual training without question.
