The CHAMP Awards was created by Greg Blatt, Founder and Executive Director of CoachesforCharacter. This is the second year that Charleston County School District will be awarding the CHAMP Award to 8th and 12th grade students. This award is designed to honor true “unsung heroes” who all too often are not recognized for their accomplishments.
The selection process, managed by Charleston County school counselors, focuses on identifying and selecting students who often go unnoticed for one reason or another, but have accomplished great things in their home, community, church or school. The criteria by which students are selected should be based on character, community service, academic effort, and overcoming odds.
If you would like to nominate a Charleston County 8th or 12th grader, please submit the nomination form below. All nominations must be submitted by February 17th, 2023. A CHAMP Awards Advisory Committee at each school will choose finalists from among those nominated. Two students will be chosen from each middle and high school in Charleston County. All CHAMP Award recipients will be recognized at the CHAMP Awards ceremony on Tuesday, April 4th, 2023.
