2023-2024 MONTHLY Application 
This is the application to apply to The Street Fair at COD for the 2022-2023 Fall Spring Season. Season will run every Saturday and Sunday,  October 7, 2023 through May 26, 2024.

1.  Complete and Submit Online Application

2. Email Supplemental Documents to jchapman@collegeofthedesert.edu with subject line "Application Docs"

Copy of Driver’s License
Seller’s Permit from the California State Board of Equalization with the business address designated as: 43-500 Monterey Avenue, Palm Desert, California 92260   
The Board of Equalization can be contacted at 760-770-4828.
County Health Certificate Farmer’s Market and Food Merchants who do not fall under our health permit only.
Agricultural Permit Produce and Nursery Merchants only.
Copy of Partnership Agreement, Corporate Articles of Incorporation and DBA If applicable


3.  Submit Application Fee of $40
This will be assessed to your online account and due upon receipt 

4. Your Application is Complete! If accepted, your acceptance letter will be sent out. If applying after the initial deadline, please allow up to 2 weeks for application processing.

5. Submit Liability Insurance
All merchants must provide the Alumni Association with a Certificate of Insurance with a minimum one million dollars ($1,000,000) policy of liability insurance naming both College of the Desert and College of the Desert Alumni Association as additional insured’s, before participation is granted at The Street Fair. The Certificate of insurance must be kept current at all times. Should a merchant’s liability insurance lapse the merchant must come to the standby window before 7:00am to pay the daily insurance rate. Food merchants may not use daily insurance, as it does not include product liability.

6. Return Indemnity Agreements
These are sent out with acceptance letters and must be returned before participation at the market. The merchant release is to be filled out and signed by the merchant. The Agent release is to be filled out and returned by any employees of the booth that are not the booth owner.

7. Pay Rental Fee 
Please refer to application timeline in the Rules and Regs for payment due dates. If starting after initial season has started payment will be due immediately to start. If starting mid-month, the monthly fee is prorated and the next month’s rent is due by the 1st day of that month.
 
*All merchants are required to maintain on file in the Alumni Office a current address and telephone number. Information contained in the merchant application is not treated as confidential or private and may be made available to the general public

TENT SETUP DECLARATION                                               On behalf of the College of the Desert and the College of the Desert Alumni Association (CODAA), we do hereby require all individuals, their company or representatives involved with either/both the tear down or assembly of the tents and street fair stalls on the College of the Desert’s campus facility for daily or weekly bazaar(s)/street fair(s)/swap meet(s), agree to hold College of the Desert and CODAA harmless and indemnify from all claims, suits, losses, damages, or expenses on account of bodily injury or property damage. Furthermore, said person/organization will defend on behalf of the College of the Desert and CODAA all claims or suits for bodily injury, property loss, property damage sustained by these parties and their representatives. CODAA further requires that you declare the party responsible for the assembly and/or tear down of said tents and/or street fair stalls. Tent Set-up contractors are required to pay the COD Alumni Association a fee for doing business on the College of the Desert property and carry their own liability insurance. It is the merchant’s responsibility to insure that the tent set-up business they employ is in good standing with the COD Alumni Association at all times. *
