Share your passion. Teach an elective.
Program Overview:   MLC's Electives are hands-on, activity focused classes that introduce students in the 1st-8th grades to new topics, information, and learning experiences while at the same time giving caring adults and older students the chance to share their talents, passions, and interests.
  • Elective teachers can teach anything they like! (and if you aren't sure what to offer, please contact Dana Lipson, the Electives Coordinator, who is here to help you plan, gather resources and materials, and support you during your teaching).
  • We keep the classes small -- typically 6-10 students in parent-led electives.
  • Students are grouped into cross-age configurations:  1x3, 4x6, and 7x8.
  • We have supplies and materials available to use in electives classes, plus a small budget (thanks to the PTSA) available for supply purchases.
  • MLC's Character Traits of respect, compassion, integrity, self-discipline, and courage are actively modeled, practiced and encouraged.
Teaching an elective is a special way to get involved and become a vital part of MLC's learning community.
