Opening Prayer:  Start with the Sign of the Cross and prayer the following prayer to begin Lent.
Session Theme:  R - Readings, Real Presence and Lent
Our theme this month was looking at a couple ways the letter R in Eucharist can help us better understand what the Eucharist is and also getting ready for the season of Lent.
Different Ways to Pray and Types of Prayer Activities
One of the questions that came up a lot in September's what/why question activity was variations on what does it mean to pray, why do we pray, how do we pray, etc.  So we will be including a different type of prayer and/or way to pray each month to give you more options at home.
Lectio Divina:  This month's Prayer experience is called Lectio Divina "divine reading" and is a way to use the bible to pray.  Pick any bible passage and use the steps below for this type of prayer.  For the in-person sessions, we used the gospel reading from Ash Wednesday.  While any scripture can be used to pray this way, considering using the upcoming Sunday gospel reading as your prayer.  The upcoming readings can be found here: https://bible.usccb.org/
Have you or anyone in your family used the Scriptures as a way to pray (using Lectio Divina or other ways)? What do you like or dislike about reading and reflecting on bible passages as a form of prayer?     *
Each month we receive a short presentation from one of our priests or deacons.  This month, Deacon Patrick gave us a reflection on the readings we hear at Mass and how they lead us closer to God.   Please watch the video and answer the following questions.
