**This is a flexible working hours hackathon; you work on the challenge when you have time to work on it during Friday 25th & 27th June 2021.**

From 24th to 27th June 2021, we are empowering the Artificial Intelligence and Medical community of NL to hack the COVID-19 crisis together and to advise Dutch policy makers. Using machine learning techniques, students and experts are invited to explore a worldwide data set of COVID-19 hospitalizations, policy decisions, and more to find patterns that can hack our crisis. Beyond discovering new challenges from the data, participants will be tasked with translating their findings into potential solutions for the Netherlands.

This hackathon will grow the AI-Medical community within the Netherlands and will provide Dutch policy makers with a fresh perspective on the pandemic. Participants will work in multidisciplinary groups and will present their solution to an expert judging panel. The winning presentation may be given as unofficial advice to the Dutch government. By hacking the pandemic, we aim to inspire participants to pursue medical  and AI fields in an enjoyable and challenging way.

To organize this event, we are collaborating with the study association for computer science & AI Cover, IFMSA-Groningen (International Federation of Medical Students’ Association), and DASH from the UMCG.
